Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) was established in 2009 to provide more educational pathways for Singaporeans to obtain a university education. In 2014, SIT was gazetted as Singapore’s fifth autonomous university. As a university of applied learning, SIT has strong industry links and numerous collaborations with industry partners. The Health and Social Sciences (HSS) academic cluster at SIT has completed 2 studies on visual impairment  and has another on-going collaboration with The Centre for Functional Mobility and Enabling Technologies at NUHS.
